Oh, Del, you're so kind :) Thanks! Did you think it was depressing? Apparently it was ambiguous enough that different people have different takes on it. Personally, I thought it was way more uplifting than most of the other "serious" work that I've done, but I can definately see the other side as well.
It is funny how I kind of swing back and forth between really serious, downer stuff and off the wall absurdist humor. I don't seem to be able to make them meet in the middle, yet...
Duncan tells me that a lot of his favorite work manages to tell a serious story, but to lighten it up with humor along the way, which I suppose can help keep an audience involved, and is probably a more accurate portrayal of life's complexity anyway, right? Something for me to work toward, I think.
